I have a severe case of blogger’s block. I’m sure if I sat here long enough, something would appear, but would it be of the quality that I would like? Probably not. I made a vow for August that I would write one blog per day, but then my computer crashed and I was set back. Then many new opportunities came my way and my blog has unfortunately been put aside again. Please bear with me as I get some other stuff done and hopefully overcome my block at the same time. I’ll be back. I promise:)

According to the NY Post and TMZ, Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, was found dead in his apartment in NYC today. Police found drug paraphernalia and prescription pill bottles near his body. He was an extremely talented DJ, spinning records at endless Hollywood clubs and parties. In his younger years he romanced Mandy Moore and was engaged to Nicole Richie. More recently, he paired up with drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182 to make the group trvsdjam. They were touring in September of 2008 and both survived a bad plane accident while returning from a show in South Carolina. They narrowly escaped death and two of their good friends died. Reminds me of the Final Destination movies a little bit. You can never escape death. It WILL find you. I hope Travis isn’t next. RIP Adam.

Look out celebrity stalkers!! McAfee released it’s annual list of “Most Dangerous” Celebs to Search. Who knew that celebs were so dangerous? I am kind of surprised that Britney Spears didn’t make the top 10. She came in at #12. What is also interesting is that Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox are tied for #8. That must just eat Angelina up. Megan is known to many as the up and coming “Angelina type”. She’s probably even more pissed that Jennifer Aniston came in at #3.
According to McAfee, here are the top 10 to watch out for:
- Jessica Biel – Major buzz about her figure and high-profile relationship with Justin Timberlake makes Jessica Biel an easy target for spammers and hackers. When “Jessica Biel screensavers” was searched, almost half of the sites were identified as containing malicious downloads with spyware, adware and potential viruses.
- Beyoncé – Beyonce tops the MTV Video Music Award nominee list and McAfee’s results as the most frequent, highly-ranked celebrity. Inputting “Beyoncé ringtones” into a search engine yielded a dangerous Web site linking to a distributor of adware and spyware.
- Jennifer Aniston – Hollywood’s favorite leading lady should be searched with caution. More than 40% of the Google search results for “Jennifer Aniston screensavers” contained nasty viruses, including one called the “FunLove virus.”
- Tom Brady – The New England Patriot seems to attract many fans who want a free download of the athlete in action, but not the Trojan that comes with it, as identified by McAfee SiteAdvisor technology.
- Jessica Simpson – Jessica Simpson is as dangerous to search online as she is famous. Searching for “Jessica Simpson videos” can mislead unsuspecting surfers to sites with potentially damaging downloads.
- Gisele Bundchen – The world’s highest-paid supermodel is a popular target for cybercriminals. A search for “Gisele Bundchen photos” can direct users to red-ranked sites that breached browser security in McAfee’s tests.
- Miley Cyrus – Cybercriminals are using Web sites related to Miley Cyrus’ image to link to other harmful sites containing spyware.
- Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie – Both tabloid fixture Megan Fox and American icon Angelina Jolie resulted in an equal number of risky download Web sites, proving cybercriminals are in the business of capitalizing on the world’s most famous faces.
- Ashley Tisdale – The “High School Musical” star is a popular search term when it comes to searching for screensavers. A host of screensaver Web sites contained numerous malware-laden downloads.
- Brad Pitt – Appearing in the top spot last year, Brad Pitt fell towards the bottom of this year’s list, resulting in a few less, but just as dangerous, red and yellow-ranked Web sites.
“Cybercriminals are star watchers too – they latch onto popular celebrities to encourage the download of malicious software in disguise,” said Jeff Green, senior vice president of McAfee Avert Labs. “Consumers’ obsession with celebrity news and culture is harmless in theory, but one bad download can cause a lot of damage to a computer.”
This makes me nervous. Although, I rarely google a celebrity directly, I get my gossip from other sites, like People and TMZ. Watch out fellow celeb obsessors!
Staci at Just Bloggled gave me the J’Adore Tien Blog Award. According to Staci, this means “I Love Your Blog” in French. Just like Staci, I also took Spanish in High School and I’ll just take Kat’s word for it too. Thanks Staci for thinking of me for the award. This is my very first blog award, it really made my day. I write this blog not really thinking anyone reads it…so it’s nice to know that you do! And I love Just Bloggled! You should definitely check it out.
The best part of the award, is that I get to pass it on! Here are the rules:
- Copy the image above.
- Pass the award on to the bloggers you feel deserve it. You can pass it on to as many or as few bloggers as you want. There is no set number on this one.
- Leave a message or a comment for the bloggers you give it to, notifying them of the award.
- Leave a comment on the blog of the person who gave the award to you.
I read a lot of blogs. A lot. In the absence of Facebook games, I’ve needed something to occupy my time, and blog-surfing is it. As I could probably think of 100 blogs that I read on a regular basis, I think it’s best to limit my award-giving today to 4 entries. I did 4 and not 5 strictly because of space issues:

These are 4 blogs that I visit, or at least try to, just about every day. They come highly recommended and I am proud to pass on the J’Adore Tien Blog Award to them!
Before my computer crisis a few weeks ago, I was a loyal Facebook game player. My games of choice were Yoville, Farmville and Mob Wars. I dabbled in Parking Wars, Smarty Pants and My City. I would go onto Facebook with the primary goal of tending to my crops and working in the Yoville factory and killing some thugs. I actually would schedule errands around when these things had to be done in the games. Then, suddenly, my computer crashed and I *gasp* had to be without it for 5 days. “But my crops!! My crops are gonna die!” was a thought that went through my head that night. I went through some withdrawals. I thought about the poor little virtual me in Yoville, with nothing to do for a few days. When I got my computer back, I had over 150 gift requests for the games. It was then that I realized all of the time that I actually put into them. And what did I get out of it? Absolutely NOTHING. The games are just the biggest time-wasters. They sucked all my time in Facebook away. Time that I could be actually corresponding with friends, which was the reason I joined Facebook in the first place. Since I got my computer back, I took a personal vow to not play the games anymore on Facebook. Thank you to all of my loyal friends who still send me gifts on there, but I am no longer playing them. And it feels good. You should try it.
