MusiCares named Neil Young as their 2010 Person of the Year and will be holding a tribute in January to the singer. According to the DMB official website:
On January 29, 2010, Dave Matthews will join a host of talented artists including Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, K.D. Lang, John Mellencamp, Ozomatli, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wilco and others who will come together for a MusiCares benefit to honor Neil Young as MusiCares® 2010 Person of the Year. Neil Young will be honored at a special event in Los Angeles which will celebrate his exceptional artistic achievements and philanthropic work. Proceeds from the annual MusiCares Person of the Year tribute — now in its 20th year — provide essential support for MusiCares, which ensures that members of the music community have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need. It is events like these that make me wish I lived in L.A. *sigh* Hopefully it will be televised.
