Hi readers! I am currently on a flight headed for California to visit my Dad. I am writing this post at an altitude of 35,000 feet. How is that possible? It is because Virgin America is the BEST airline EVER. I was a Virgin virgin but I don’t think I could possibly fly another airline ever again.
Not only does Virgin have great entertainment at every seat (Satellite TV, video-games, on-demand entertainment like seasons of TV shows and movies) AND Wi-Fi available. The only problem with the wifi was the price: $12.95 for the flight. When I booked the flight, I thought it was free, but since I will be on the plane for over 5 hours, it was WELL worth the $13. How else would I publish a blog post from the sky? They also have USB and AC plugs at every seat to charge your electronics while you play. Because what good would the Wi-Fi be if my computer’s battery ran out? Although, according to Apple, my MacBook Pro has a battery that can last up to 9 hours. Considering I’ve been on it for 20 minutes and am already down to less than 3 hours, I don’t really buy that claim.
So anyway, just wanted to post this because I CAN…and normally when I’m flying, I just wish I can go online. I will try to keep up with my daily blog posts from California…but I make no promises:)

In a “press conference” unlike anything they’ve ever done for a cast announcement, Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke announced the cast of the new season of Dancing with the Stars. Drumroll, please.

All I can say is….this season is going to be VERY interesting. I look forward to blogging about it. What do you think?
What to do when you forget your book?
Around the room I look and look.
Fashion horrors all around
Band-aids on fingers are abound.
News 12 on the big screen
Local commercials loud they scream.
Sitting next to guy playing with his beard
He has these odd glasses on, very weird.
My appointment was ten minutes ago
And still I sit and wait
It drives me crazy when they make me late.
That’s all for now
Hoping they will call my name soon
Any day now I will be out of here
When? Well, that just isn’t clear.

A few hours ago, my landlord, Jenn, texted me: “OMG dead kitten in front of house.” Being a cat lover, I immediately threw on my shoes and ran outside to see what happened. A truck had stopped (not the one that hit it) and the lights were hitting it. It was sitting straight up and moving a little. I ran over (a few houses down) and Jenn said when they drove by, it was laying flat like it had been run over, but when she went to move it off the road it was alive. The person who hit it didn’t even stop.
The kitten was about 2 months old, all white with orange spots and it was bleeding from the mouth and struggling to breathe. The only animal hospital that is open 24 hours is about 20 minutes away, so we got a box and got him in there with some towels and made the drive over. I drove and Jenn kept checking on him (we decided it was a boy, no reason really) in the box to make sure he wasn’t dead. We named him Max. Max the white and orange kitten.
When we got to the animal hospital, they took him to the back to take a look and had Jenn fill out “Good Samaritan” forms, I guess this happens often. They said their policy is you either take responsibility for the cat (and all medical bills) or they euthanize the animal. Jenn broke into tears. She couldn’t take the kitten, she has a 1 year old baby and a 12 year old cat. That’s not the best mix. And I can’t take the kitten. I have enough to deal with right now, plus Gracie, that’s enough. We both felt better when the Dr. came out and said Max had severe head trauma and wouldn’t make it anyway, even if we did take him. So Jenn signed the papers to authorize them to put him to sleep. Poor little kitty Max.
At least we tried. I know we weren’t successful at saving him, but we tried to save him and that’s the most important thing. Have you ever done a good deed like that?
